The decades-old Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (CrPC), which provided the procedural framework for the administration of criminal law, has been replaced by the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023. Lastly, the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023 took place of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
