Boynton’s victory inspired civil rights activists, known as the Freedom Riders, to travel on interstate buses in the South to test the Supreme Court’s ruling. In June, the court ruled in R.G. & Among the Freedom Riders was Congressman John Lewis, who also died this year. Harris Funder Homes v. EEOC that it does.
