Sandra Day O’Connor, first woman on the Supreme Court, dies at 93

Share Sandra Day O’Connor, a self-described “Arizona cowgirl” who made history as the first woman to serve as a Supreme Court justice, died on Friday in Phoenix, Arizona. One California-based firm, Gibson Dunn, did offer O’Connor a job – as a legal secretary. She was 93. O’Connor opted not to seek reelection in 1974.
