The important point here is to be intentional and construct a plan to integrate these behaviors into your life and make them permanent. Calendar those exercise appointments. Taking time to get to know co-workers on a personal level does several constructive things. Eating healthier. Taking time for yourself. It grows on you.

Calendar the event on your calendar, and the attorney’s calendar. When making a calendar item, whether it is a hearing, phone call, client meeting, or even a deposition, I use the appointment notes in Outlook so that when the attorney pulls up the meeting or call, he has a quick set of notes for easy reference.

Typically , we are responsible for our own systems, including calendaring. After a few reminders from the 6-year-old, though, I blocked the following Friday off on my calendar. I didn’t tell them, but my calendar entry read, “Take kids exploring.” As the day approached, it was so hard to leave the calendar blocked.

The Supreme Court has announced a seven-case late-May calendar. Like all calendars since April 2020 , and for the foreseeable future, May’s arguments will be remote and based in San Francisco. The Supreme Court has announced a four-case February calendar. The arguments will be live streamed , as all arguments have been since May 2016. The court continues on a pace for a low output of opinions. At this rate, there will be only 47 or 48 opinions this term, slightly fewer than last term’s historically low output.

The Supreme Court has announced its January calendar, the first one to be presided over by Patricia Guerrero, who will be sworn in as Chief Justice days before the arguments. There will be five cases heard. At its current pace, the court will issue only 48 or 49 opinions this term, on a par with last term’s historically low output.
