We have been discussed two areas of concern for free speech in the United States: the increased monitoring of social media speech as grounds of discipline and the push to criminalize speech. Both of those concerns seem to have coalesced in the arrest of a Connecticut high school student accused of posting racist comments about a classmate.

Each of these bases for jurisdiction to prescribe is consistent with customary international law , and China has the right to extend its criminal law extraterritorially like this.

The litigation over last year’s lettuce recall has only just started due to the statute of limitations. The cases from injuries last year are just now being filed under the statute of limitations, but it has been another bumper crop of Thanksgiving torts. Macy’s Parade also did not disappoint with its balloon-related mishaps.
