It is a curious call for a governor to make after he ran ads in Florida calling on people to “join us in California.” to be charged criminally for transporting 36 people to Sacramento. California Attorney General Rob Bonta (D) chimed in, declaring the flight from Florida might be “ State-sanctioned kidnapping.”

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar made national headlines by opening a criminal investigation into the recent flights arranged by Florida of undocumented migrants to Martha’s Vineyard. Immigration advocates were only able to get three migrants to join the initial challenge. Three filed a complaint against the state.

States have complained that the Biden Administration has harassed and sued them at every turn as they sought to require voter identification or other laws. Florida is now suing the Biden administration for allegedly obstructing the verification of immigration records so the state can remove any non-citizens.
