South Korea Court rejects ex-President Yoon’s objection to execution of arrest and search warrant

The Criminal Divison of the Seoul Western District Court on Sunday rejected former President Yoon Suk Yeol’s objection to the execution of the arrest warrant and the search warrant of the presidential resident, according to local media Yonhap. Yoon’s lawyers filed the objection on Thursday by calling the warrants “illegal” and cited Article 417 of the Criminal Procedure Act as the ground, according to Seoul News 1.

MMEA director-general Rear Admiral Datuk Mohd Rosli Abdullah said the operation followed an arrest on Friday of two boats attempting to illegally enter Pantai Teluk Yu, a beach on the northeastern resort island of Langkawi.

Panelli memorial and oral arguments on Tuesday; no conference this week

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court will remember former Justice Edward Panelli, who died in July (see also here , here , and here ), and will then hear arguments in the three cases on its January calendar. The arguments will be live streamed. Opinions in the cases should file byApril 7. Because of the oral arguments, the court will not be conferencing (also here )thisweekand there will be a double conference next week.
