Mali recalls ambassador to Algeria following interference accusations

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mali announced it is recalling its ambassador in Algiers “for consultation with immediate effect” in a statement after Algerian officials criticized the recent escalating violence in Mali, fuelling tensions between both countries. The decision came after the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, summoned the ambassador of Mali in Algeria, Mahamane Amadou Maiga, regarding recent violent escalations in the country.

Ukraine court overturns acquittal verdict of policeman for allegations of torture during Revolution of Dignity

The Ukrainian Kyiv Court of Appeal overturned the acquittal verdict of the Dniprovskyi District Court of Kyiv regarding a former policeman of the Berkut Military Police, sentencing him to six years in prison. The appellate court found that the officer deliberately caused severe physical pain and physical and moral suffering to two Revolution of Dignity participants and convicted him of torture.
