US Supreme Court revives Corporate Transparency Act to regulate money-laundering

The US Supreme Court issued a temporary nationwide stay Thursday that revived the Corporate Transparency Act , which regulates money laundering by requiring small businesses to register with the United States Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. The Act prevents money laundering by requiring corporate entities to report their beneficial ownership which also regulates anonymous and illicit business ownership.

North Macedonia court releases former officials linked to 2017 Parliament attack

Four former officials from North Macedonias ruling party VMRO-DPMNE on Thursday were released by a court after being convicted for organizing a violent attack on the Parliament in 2017. Trajko Veljanovksi, a former parliamentary speaker, along with Spiro Ristovski and Mile Janakieski, both former cabinet ministers, and Vladimir Atanasovski, a former head of national security, had all received sentences of six to six-and-a-half years for endangering constitutional order and security.
