US jury finds Google app store policies violate antitrust law

A US jury decided Monday that Google’s current app store policies violate Section 2 and 1 of the Sherman Antitrust Act and the California Cartwright Act. Climate litigation in Germany has achieved another major victory. On November 30, 2023, the Higher Administrative Court Berlin-Brandenburg ruled in DUH and BUND v. Germany that the federal government must adopt an immediate action program (‘Sofortprogramm’) under the Federal Climate Change Act (CCA). The program is intended to ensure compliance with the annual emission targets for the building and transportation sectors for the years 2024 to 2030.

UN mission to Mali announces closure

The UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) announced Monday it would close after ten years of service. Mali previously called upon the UN to withdraw from the country “without delay” in June. The UN began withdrawing the mission in July. MINUSMA expressed gratitude to the countries that supported their effort and thanked the peacekeepers for their dedication to the mission.
