Kenya Supreme Court overturns decision declaring Finance Act 2023 unconstitutional

The Supreme Court of Kenya reversed the Court of Appeal ruling on Tuesday that declared the Finance Act 2023 unconstitutional. President Ruto signed the Finance Act 2023 into law on June 26, 2023, but it was later contested for unconstitutionality in the High Court. The 11 petitions filed in the High Court challenged the constitutionality of the Act based on its provisions, including the housing levy, and the legislative process employed.
