A Rallying Cry Against Rogue Paralegals

The Paralegal Society

When the time to stand up and fight presents itself to a person who is called to a cause: the soldier picks up his rifle; the boxer, his gloves; and the blogger, her keyboard. And we do not stop, until we have either silenced our opponent, or there is nothing of ourselves left to give. That time is today. The keyboard is locked and loaded. The House of Collins banner flies on high in the legal sector.

Staff Appreciation Week - How's it going for you?

LegalSecretariesRock

Not because I'm ungrateful for the weeklong activities from HR and the law firm office manager, but because the more presents I get, the less appreciated I feel. And that's because even though the firm pulls out all stops, my attorneys never seem to notice. I suppose I should be grateful for the fact that my bosses never want to take me to lunch.

Update: Bill to Make Register of Copyrights a Presidential Appointee Approved by House of Representatives

Broadcast Law Blog

We wrote here about the Congressional proposal to make the Register of Copyrights a Presidential appointee subject to Congressional approval, rather than a selection of the Librarian of Congress. That bill, HR-1695 (an updated version of which is available here ), despite some expressed concerns from certain advocacy groups about the potentially making that position more partisan and political, was approved this week by the House of Representatives on a 378 to 48 vote.
