In recent weeks, there have been major demonstrations in Peru by farmers and transporters protesting a lack of state support for agriculture and a rise in the price of gasoline. The demonstrations started after March 21 in Huancayo, a city of some 500,000 people located in the department of Junín, in central Peru, about 120 miles from Lima.

British Conservative lawmaker found guilty of sexually assaulting teenager

A UK Conservative Party MP was found guilty Monday of sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy. Imran Ahmad Khan, an MP of Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s ruling party was charged with forcing the teenager to consume alcohol before abusing him in 2008. The incident occurred before Khan became Wakefield MP, and at the time denied the charges. The victim chose not to proceed with the complaint until 2019 when he pursued the case.
