In fact, neither of them even graduated high school. It wasn’t until they were well into adulthood that they each (separately) earned a GED. They worked, but didn’t make a lot of money.

The US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit on Tuesday overturned a decision from the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia that held the Virginia Fairfax County School Board’s (Board) new admissions policy violated the Fourteenth Amendment’s due process clause. The Minnesota Senate passed a bill mandating rideshare companies to provide their drivers a minimum wage and other benefits on Sunday in a narrow vote of 35-32. The bill requires that all drivers be compensated $1.45 per mile within the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area and $0.34 per minute while transporting a rider. It also requires a minimum fee of $5 to transport a rider and makes companies pay drivers regardless of whether fees or fares are actually collected.

In a closely watched copyright case, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Thursday that Andy Warhol’s portraits of music legend Prince did not qualify as fair use under copyright law. The decision affirms a previous ruling by the Second Circuit, which found that Warhol’s artwork shared the same commercial purpose as the original photograph taken by photographer Lynn Goldsmith.

Hennepin County, Minnesota, et al. , wherein a local Minnesota government sold off a woman’s condo to satisfy her tax bill. The case centered around Geraldine Tyler, a 94-year-old woman, whose condo was sold by Hennepin County, Minnesota to satisfy her tax bill.
