EU blocks UK from joining cross-border civil court pact

The High Court of Madras noted Friday that an accused person who is acquitted from all the charges is entitled to have their name redacted from all court orders in relation to the offences they were accused of in order to uphold their fundamental right to privacy. The District Court of The Hague convicted Friday Ahmad al Kehdr, a Syrian refugee and former member of the Syrian military, of war crimes and sentenced him to 20 years in prison. The court possessed video evidence of Al Khedr participating in the execution of a Syrian government official in 2012.
