I actually was getting my college degree because I wanted to go on to law school. One of the professors had a criminal justice degree and it was in his criminal justice class. He had a friend who was the office manager at a local law firm, in Sarasota, Florida. I went and interviewed for the position.

Can you tell us a little about yourself—how you ended up becoming a lawyer, what you enjoy about practicing law, and how you ended up at this law firm? Early on in my career, I started out leading a human resources office. We are licensed in Ohio, Florida, Colorado, and Nevada.

Three are office managing partners. I actually never intended to go to law school. But then I go to law school. And if we are in a state of being, for example, where I’ll use Florida as an example where someone can say, we want to ban any training if it makes someone uncomfortable.
