Michigan voters added term limits for state legislators and state executives to their state constitution in 1992. On Wednesday, the Sixth Circuit rejected the challenge.

Michigan ex-governor Rick Snyder facing charges in Flint water crisis

The Attorney General of Michigan brought two charges of criminal neglect Wednesday against former governor Rick Snyder for his role in the Flint water crisis. The charges cite violations of section 750.478 of the Michigan Penal Code. Snyder served as governor of Michigan from 2011 to 2019.

Michigan Circuit Judge Christina Elmore Friday refused to drop a second-degree murder charge against Christopher Schurr, a former police officer for the Grand Rapids Police Department. Schurr was on paid leave and then fired after fatally shooting Black motorist Patrick Lyoya in the back of the head during a struggle over a taser.
