The UK Supreme Court delivered a judgement on Friday which overturned the convictions of four defendants who blockaded an East London arms fair. In September 2017, an arms fair was held in East London which the appellants opposed by locking themselves in miniature cages in the middle of a road leading to the fair.

Germany arrests five for crimes related to war in Syria

The prosecution is based on Germany’s Völkerstrafgesetzbuch (VStGB) , or International Criminal Law Code, which allows for the prosecution of suspects based on the principle of universal jurisdiction. One suspect was part of the Syrian Military Intelligence Service’s Palestine Department, which collaborated with the FPM.
